Leave of Absence / “Vacation” Semester

If you have an important reason to take a leave of absence from your studies, you may be allowed to take one or two semesters off without penalty towards your semester count. Reasons for a leave of absence might include, for example, studying abroad, illness or injury, pregnancy, or raising children. Your request for a leave of absence is, as a general rule, to be submitted before the start of the lecture period.
